By tweaking the viscosity of my polymer solution, I was able to obtain thicker PLA films after electrospinning. However, I am unable to separate the PLA polymer film from the aluminium foil. Can you please suggest what I can do to achieve this? Should I use the cling film or the baking paper? Which one is more suitable for electrospinning?

you most likely will run into challenges spinning a thicker membrane on cling film, so (baking) paper is preferred. There are 2 other options
1) Did you ever tested to release the PLA with dripping ethanol (100% or diluted) on your mesh?
2) spin the fibers drier, at least the first layers. Then the mesh sticks less to the foil
I used to tape microscope slides over the aluminium foil to easily strip the fibers from the collector.. the fibers would then sit over the slides.. the spinning process could take longer time but it was much easier to seperate the fibers and make thick scaffolds
