i am preparing ophthalmic nano emulsions to prove the in vitro release fro formulation. i need to select the proper MWCO membrane.will it depend on the Molecular weight of drug molecule or any other selection criteria is there fro selection?.
Select the MWCO membrane depends on the drug MW. for example MW of drug is 800-900, use 1000 MWCO.
Thanks for your Reply sir, but MW of Drug if 500 daltons i have tried with 5 KD and 10 KD drug release was less. what would be the selection criteria for selection of dialysis membrane will it depend on the size of the globule size or drug MW
Generally nanoparticles size are >50 nm in size. if drug is not in part of nanoparticle and it is floating in the solution as free drug. MWCO membrane was used to remove the free drug from the nanoparticles aliquots. if drug is in the form of crystals/globular, you may try with bigger size of MWCO membrane, or try to make free drug.

slection of membrane depends on the drug molecule weight. better check on spectrum dialysis membrane you will get more information

Is Membrane selection also depends on pore size?.or only drug molecular weight.some researchers are saying about nano particle size also too.
