Lead-acid batteries can be sealed using epoxy cement or glues, or with solvent-based cements; selected to be compatible with the sulfuric acid electrolyte. Modern batteries are often sealed by ultrasonic or thermal welding of the enclosing case to its cover. Tar (asphalt) was typically used to seal this kind of batteries until a few decades ago.

Thanks for your reply. sorry to say this, I think my question is not understood well by you. Binder materials are used both in positive and negative electrodes. These materials are used in dry mixing stage of initial reactant for electrode active material preparation. initial reactant consists of micron sized lead oxide and lead particles (75:25), binder (fiber form of polyester or acrylic), water and sulfuric acid.
• Binders provide electrode active material particles cohesion.
• It holds micron-sized particles in a structurally stable film.
•To hold electrode micron sized powder particles together
• Loose particles have limited conductivity, hence poor electrochemistry.
• Fast capacity fading as a result of huge volume changes during the charge/
discharge process.
• This will cause poor electrical contact of electrode active material particles with the conducting matrix.
• As a result, the anodes & cathodes show fast capacity fading, low Coulombic efficiency, and electrode deterioration upon cycling.
For I can not answer you. This is a very sensitive issue and a very individual issue. I do not see it as envy or malice. I hope that, in people of integrity, then no. I can not imagine such a conception of life. Best regards and respect, Mirko!
