Followed by Modified Hummer's Method ,GO got prepared but i m also getting peaks of graphite Flakes in XRD (attached below) .Now please let me know is there any way to remove these unexfoilated graphite flakes from GO or I need to make GO again?
Hummer's method is a very sensitive process. You have peaked at about 10.5 and 24 degrees. There should be no peak at 24 degrees. This may mean that the operation failed.
As suggested by Bin Zhao defects can be removed by centrifugation. If you do not have the opportunity to solve the source of the problem. There may be many sources of the problem.
1. Contamination from the environment during the mixing process.
2. Rising to high temperatures during the process (especially after the addition of potassium permanganate).
3. Deterioration of your chemical materials (especially hydrogen peroxide and potassium permanganate are sensitive)
4. Using non-deionized water
You can compare XRD tests with the following articles.

Use improved Hummers method for the production of good quality of GO. Instead of graphite flakes use graphite powder and ensure the chemicals are fresh, after GO synthesis, wash the materials accordingly reported in the literature, you will get good GO powder. 10.1021/nn1006368.
