I have to do the western blot from the rat's kidney. I assume that before lysis the tissue I should remove the blood from the organ to avoid further contamination of lysate with blood proteins.
I would be happy to get any suggestions on how can I do this on the isolated kidney (after I am removing the organ from the animal)

You could maybe treat small pieces of the tissue before lysing it with red blood cell (RBC) lysis buffer and wash it over.
Also you could maybe reduce the blood content by draining out the rats before taking organs.
In the worst case you could do 2D-SDS page instead WB, identify blood proteins and substract them from the kidney lysate.
