How to remove XTT stains from the floor lining (PVC) without removing the floor? The floor was stained as dead, perfect, but how to remove the staining now? We have tried so many things, It looks horrible in the room...
But seriously, have you tried 100% ethanol? If that doesn't work, 50% ethanol, 50% H2O2 might. For home vinyl floors, oxalic acid is recommended for stubborn stains, so a solution of that might be in order. If none of those work, then yes, napalm might be the answer.
To discuss this essential question I suggest to add the photo. Simple picture is always improving the scientific discussion on RG. I really don’t like posts, where the outlook of the analyses is only described. That is generating the discussion of 50 usually busy researchers, to find at the end, when the photo appears, that basic chemical used in the experiment was old… By the way as a MSc in Biology I strongly don’t recommend you termites, since these little creatures will eat everything is wooden in your laboratory first;)
I guess that acetone could easily "dissolve" the surface of PVC and make a whole thing even more funky...
What about some abrasive cleaner (or anything rational mentioned), brush and persistence? Remember... If you can´t achieve something by using force, try brute force.. :)
