How to remove Chlorophyll content from extract of medicinal plants without loosing its bioactive compounds?

you can use sephadex column with a system of H:M:M 5:5:1 or 10:10:1
The dry powder of the plant (1 gm) is dissolved in 10 ml of Methanol-water (8:2) in an ultrasonic bath for 1 hr. The solid phase is conditioned using 100 ml of methanol and then 100 ml of water.The dissolved sample is loaded on the column and elutes with a solution of methanol-water (80:20).The eluted sample ,free of chlorophyll, is transfer to a round bottom flask, to evaporate the solvent with rotary evaporator.After this, the column wash with 200 ml of acetone in order to recover the stationary phase.This method is called SPE Method
I use a liquid- liquid extraction to remove chlorophyll (hexane vs MeOH and water) (10:9:1)
But you need to evaporate the organic part and check the activity.. some chlorophyll derivatives have activities...(pheophorbide,...)
