I’ve been trying to record eEPSCs in thalamocortical neurons in ventrobasal complex (VB) by using horizontal slices of 300 μm thickness for several days, but the success rate is quite low. Even though I could get some good recordings, the stimulus intensity I applied would be quite large (about 2-3 mA), and the stimulus duration would also be quite long (300-500 ms).

Can anyone give me some suggestions about where to place the stimulus electrode?
