In JEOL 6610LV. Using energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer elemental analysis provides immediate surface of the sample to the nearest 0.1%. The energy spectrum of emitted X-ray gives a quantitative elemental composition. The more oxygen in the composition, the more oxidized elements.
