When working with low-concentration (pM) solutions of lipids like Lipid A, I noticed severe loss of material presumably due to sticking to the glass walls. Has anybody had such a problem and knows how to deal with it?
When using glass tubes an pipettes for lipid handling, treat them before with chromic mixture. On next day, wash and rinse thorougly. This is a bit tedious task but extremelly efficient.
Another alternative is that you PEGylate your glass (http://www.interchim.fr/ft/L/LO5310.pdf).
It does not really survive extensive washing and I am unsure how well it survives in long term storage, so it is alright for measurement vessels such as quartz cuvettes but might not be good for stock solution test tubes.
