I suppose you mean the possibility of preparing nanoparticles that can be selected based on size ... If so, the way that I have sometimes used is differential centrifugation, although it will depend on the size of the nanoparticles. There is a lot of preliminary testing and the use of an appropriate solvent to perform the centrifugations but, in general, very heterogeneous mixtures can be separated and classified very well using this technique.
