I have searched several journal for sample preparation for screening of phytochemical of plants using methanol, however they did not mention the proper step of sample preparation before injecting to GC-MS. I'm using methanolic extraction and GC-MS Agilent with HP-5 column. After using the rotary evaporation what should I do to prepare the sample before injection?

For all GC injections, the solvent you use is important to reduce excessive backflash so you need to solvent exchange as methanol is not an ideal solvent for SSL, for most things I would use nonane or a low volatile hydrocarbon but for some plant extract ethanol may be a better option.
You can use https://www.restek.com/en/tools-and-calculators/tools/solvent-expansion-calculator/ to calculate if the solvent you are using is ok to prevent backflash and contamination.
Also, filter your extract before injection ideally through a 0.2um filter.
You may also want to consider some quality control and assurance compounds to check that solvent exchange and instrumental methodology.
Dear Muhd Arif Shaffiq Sahrir After using the rotary evaporation, you should reconstitute your analyte with a suitable solvent, depends on your analyte characteristics. Just make sure that the solvent you use is easy to evaporate by using GC MS/MS. You don't need to filter your reconstituted test solution by syringe filter 0.45 or 0.25 micrometer because the GC column diameter is different from LC or HPLC column. Moreover, there is liner and glass wool in the GC MS/MS. Before your analyte enters the HP-5 column, the analyte will be cleaned when it passes through the liner and glass wool.

Assalamualaikum Ratih Dewi Sujana , thanks for the answers. Do you have any journal or references I could used for this purpose? Most journal I read doesn't include the method before injecting the solution. They only provide the details about GC-MS condition only.
Indeed, the preparation of samples for the GC-MS is very important issue, as if you have failed to prepare the sample properly, you are not able to identify your desired analytes. Therefore, I appreciate you for raising this nice question. Actually it also depends on the desired analytes. Generally, after the concentration of the sample extract using rotary vacuum evaporator or concentration station, you need to reconstructed the sample extract using methanol or acetronitrile.
