I have dissolved Docetaxel in DMSO to a concentration 0.5mg/ml, from which I take 1ul and dilute in saline (1:100) for mice injections. When I dilute docetaxel which is already dissolved completely in DMSO, forms precipitate when I dilute them with saline. Can anyone help me with how to prepare docetaxel stocks for mice injections?
I would highly recommend to use pharmaceutical grade drug samples and prepare them as if to be applied for human treatment (recommendations given in the respective SmPCs/leaflets for medical personal). Normally, pharmaceutical Docetaxel formulations only have to be added w/o further modifications to infusion solutions, and you calculate the respective dose/animal from those. Docetaxel is KNOWN to not be compatible with many solutants. Use the respective dose for either i.v. or i.p. application in the animals.
