Does anyone have experience in applying PCB can tell me how to improve the solubility of PCB in water? I tried to dissolve 25mg in 42mL water but I failed. I then tried to adjust the pH value of the whole system by adding NaOH afterwards coz it's said PCB have better solubility in basic solution, but even thought the pH reached 12.8 - which is very alkaline, I'm still have having difficulty dissolving PCB, there're still many insoluble powder dispersed in water.....I'm afraid that I cannot use methanol as the solvent coz I need to add this PCB stock to medium for cell culture.Does anyone have any thoughts about it?

By the way, I also tried to use a amount of pure DMSO to dissolve those insoluble powder (it's said that PCB is soluble in DMSO), but they were still insoluble. Is it a normal scenario? or it's because my sample of PCB is impure?
