I am using marc-mentate for simulation of tire-cord composite material. The tire is modelled by hexahedron element 80 and cord are discretized by rebar 147. The analysis involves with contact model and friction at the contact interface. The model works well for coarse mesh but some of elements shows excessive deformation and give message of stress recovery error and then stop. I have tried using adaptive time control / constant time step and found similar problems. I would like to use adaptive remeshing. I found adaptive remeshing is available for isotropic and unique material. In my case, rubber contains rebar element and there is no merged node between them. Hence, when I use adaptive remeshing, then rebar element get separation from rubber node which is right as I think. Is there any option to perform adaptive remeshing to two different element without any merged node between them?
