The experiment needs to observe the process of water and solute migration in the soil column in the laboratory and perform numerical simulation using the HYDRUS model, which requires the use of potential evaporation as input. However, there currently seems to be a lack of calculation methods for potential evaporation in the laboratory, generally under field conditions. So I would like to ask how to obtain the potential evaporation under laboratory conditions? Does the Penman-formula still work in the laboratory? Or there are other formulas.
Thanks for your reply.
