Hi,
I have a rectangular bar with an analytical rigid surface attached at the free end with a RP at the centre of it. I am applying a rotational BC of 0.017 (1 deg) with respect to the Z axis, but the resulting rotation at the end of the bar is more than 1 degree. Any idea why? Or how to have a full control of the twist of the bar?
I will work out the torque generated to produce this rotation.... to plot the torque-rotation relation.

Please provide a working example, an INP file for example. How do you link the reference point with the rest of the deformable mesh ? Don't you mean meshed rigid body instead ?

I am attaching an input file with the model and the deformed results so far. Notice that the deformation is wrong.
The reference point is attached with the rest with the tie constrain. And no, i didnt mean meshed rigid body, because i am using a surface analytical rigid body, so it doesnt require any material properties o meshes.

how do you measure the rotation at the and? Maybe your body is non exactly centered on the z axis.

I think your exact problem is not modeled truly in this inp file. First of all, you don't even need that rigid body. Why don't you easily use rigid body constrained at rotated surface as a master and RP as it's slave? Actually an element-based surface should be used instead.
The most important mistake is created because of Disp-BC3; because you prevent the "warping" of the bar.
