When choosing the best course of action to address the early-age cracking issue in concrete, it is crucial to properly understand the causes and effects of cracking. We work to pinpoint the primary reasons for and effects of early-age cracking. Additionally, this will be helpful in adopting efficient corrective techniques to lessen or completely eliminate the early-age cracking problem in concrete. This article discusses several early-age crack types, variables influencing the start and growth of early-age cracks, causes of early-age cracking, and early-age crack modeling. Examples of various early-age cracking issues with concrete that can be seen in various structural elements are described, as are some suggestions for reducing this issue.
