I'm trying to come up with a pipeline to measure the distance between the scalp and the functional activation from a dlpfc localizer task. Haven't been able to find any tutorials on this and am unsure of the processing steps I'd need to put together.
It's been a while since I've done much with MRI data and would really appreciate any pointers.

It seems like you would need the voxel locations in the stack, a good threshold for detecting the skin transition to air/not skin, and some repetitive trig. Give me a holler if I can help.
Thanks Mike. I also found that you can do a crude estimate using the localite navigation software, although I'm not sure how accurate that would be.
I think you need something like: 1) reconstruction of scalp surface, 2) reconstruction of grey matter surface 3) distance between them for each vertex 4) averaged distance for vertexes in region of interest. I'm not sure that you can find such pipeline, but you probably can collaborate with somebody to create it.
