I would like to perform an experiment that is dependent on ssDNA successfully flowing out of a PDMS microchannel for collection. However, ssDNA adsorbs onto hydrophobic surfaces, and PDMS is naturally hydrophobic.
Any chemists out there got any guesses on how to maximize my ssDNA flowthrough? Specifically, is there a solution that will de-adsorb DNA from PDMS without breaking hybridized DNA bonds?
If not my backup is to make the PDMS hydrophillic by O2 plasma treatment then PVA surface modification. If you got a better hydrophilic treatment that would also be welcome. https://www.nature.com/articles/micronano201691
