I'm searching for articles related to vacuum brazed diamond tools' manufacturing process. I took a look at this link http://www.gh-ia.com/pdf/brazing-diamond-tools.pdf but still wonder about manufacturing process. How can I put diamond particles in order just as enclosed image ?
These are diamond beads for marble or granite cutting process. These beads are mounted on a wire and the wire is connected to a multiwire machine . You can see detailed videos if you use keywords : " multiwire, diamond bead " .When machine starts working these diamonds in metal matrix work for cutting.
Hi I've seen a video of the production of beads like that a few years ago. They used special brazing rods for flame brazing, with embedet cermets inside. The cermets fell into the still liquid coating.
Vacuum brazing of diamonds isn't a huge problem nowadays (using active filler metals like incusil-aba etc...), but for your application the positioning and fixture of the diamonds in the right place during brazing could be a bit tricky (not imposible though...)
These beads are certainly not brazed with a torch. The steel sleeve has to be covered with a brazing filler material paste, which is suitable for active brazing. The diamond grit will be sprinkled or set by robot. Finally the brazing will be done in a vacuum furnace. Does this help you?
