Example: Nitrogen-doped TiO₂/ZnO

1. Add 1 g ZnO and 2 g urea to a solution of titanium tetrabutoxide + isopropanol.

2. Stir for 30 minutes, evaporate, dry at 80°C.

3. Calcine in an N₂ atmosphere at 450°C for 2 hours. The N-TiO₂/ZnO composite operates in the visible region.

When comparing the efficiency of modifications, it is recommended to conduct photocatalytic tests under a visible lamp (λ > 420 nm) and compare with the control.

But to make TiO2-ZnO active in visible light do we need dope with N? Bcs im trying to make TiO2-ZnO avtive without any dopping

To enhance the photocatalytic performance, you should incorporate graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) to form a heterojunction with TiO₂/ZnO. This heterostructure promotes efficient electron-hole separation, extending light absorption into the visible range and improving charge carrier mobility, resulting in higher degradation efficiency and better redox activity.
