How to make sure my drug powder is not infected?

I have a bottle of drug powder that I need to dissolve in DMSO and add to my cells in the culture. the bottle was opened in non-sterlie condition. How can I know that there is no bacteria or fungi in it. I really wanna avoid filteration because Im afraid of messing with the concentration

USP 61 - for nonfatty products insoluble in water

Using filtration of a DMSO water solution is not appropriate. You expect to enhance the antimicrobial effect in that solution
