I am trying to synthesize silver nanowires based on the article, [Rapid synthesis of silver nanowires through a CuCl- or CuCl2-mediated polyol process].

However, as I inject [AgNO3 in EG] into the solution, the final mixture turns into dark-red.

It seems to fail.

Why the color is dark-red?

Is the problem related to Ar-purging?

I shook the AgNO3 before Ar-purging, then it turned into red-yellow, something color...
