i have implemented a wireless sensor network on OMNET++ (Mixim), I have put my nodes in a area randomly. Now I want to make some holes in a shape of Square , rectangle and circle in the area so that nodes couldn't place at those area.How can I do that? Is it necessary to change code at the mixim main-framework to aim this goal and write mobility code?
The hole is basically caused by the dying node or node which depleted their energy. In addition, the simply way you can restrict the algorithm of bode placement.. and not placed the node on the hole area. If you want to draw the rectangle shape of hole... you put the specifed area of it.. ( random or fixed). Just simple math. :)
Your question need a little more clarity. However, let me answer it as per my understanding:
1. Energy holes occur naturally in static sink based sensor networks, you cannot make it according to difference shapes. A energy hole is caused by faster rate of energy consumption around sink (base station) and on critical paths (paths most used). If you need to artificially create energy holes of different shapes you need to give more information why you need it and for what application.
2. By mention of mobility and different shapes, one can understand that you need mobile sink trajectories or paths in terms of square, rectangle, or circle. In that case you will be able to avoid energy hole problem occur in static sink based WSNs. In order to have area clear in the path of these shapes you need to change random node deployment code (exclude point occurring on those node when you run random node deployment code).
