We are fabricating a sensor in which we have to coat a polymer, which is sensitive to the measurement parameter on the Copper electrode. But the sensitive polymer solution is too thin and not coatable on the Copper. Is there any way to make the thin Polymer solution a bit thicker so that it can be coated on the copper electrode. Any suggestion other than making the thin solution thicker is also welcome.

I am not sure what method you are using to coat the polymer on the substrate. One way the thickness can be controlled is by spin coating. The thickness of a spin coated film is directly proportional to the viscosity and inversely proportional to the speed of spinning (or its inverse square root, I am not sure). Thus by controlling the rpm of spinning the thickness can be controlled. I am assuming that you are curing or drying the coated surface to remove the solvent?
@Srini Vasan, I am using dip coating for coating the polymeric solution on the electrode.
The key again is to keep the viscosity high. If it is not possible to change the polymer/solvent composition, another way would be to place the substrate in a freezer and quickly dip it. The increased viscosity at the lower temperature may give you a thicker coating.

Try adding some neutral long chain hydrophilic polymers such as agarose or carboxy methyl cellulose. These water absorbant polymers would make the solution more viscous, thereby enabling you to coat it in the substrate.
Just make sure that these polymers are compatible with your final product.
