How to interpret saturation index (SI) values for compounds in aqueous media if SI is

1. large negative

2. small negative

2. small positive (0-1), and

3. large positive (>1)?

SI tells us about the probability for a mineral to precipitate. Does it, somehow, also indicate the Solubilization of already precipitated mineral in a system?

If the SI for a compound is negative but very small (-0.149) can we still consider its probability of formation?

Please enrich me about the nitty gritties of saturation index.
