I am using nonwoven polypropylene as support material to collect electrospun mat over it. The problem I am facing is the electrospun mat is not adhering to polypropylene due to its low surface energy. Does anyone have any ideas?
You may also try with corona tretament. But please take into account that the corona treatment should be done before the fiber collection experiment, as oxidized poyolefin surfaces tend to lose their polarity in type (the polar groups tunr inward.) The polarity can be re-gained if the surface is soaked in water for longer time.
thanks for your reply sridhar vadahanambi. am using aluminum plate as collector, over which i place my polypropylene non-woven fabric to collect electrospun mat. as polypropylene surface energy is low, electrospun web is not adhering to it. Tell me that any surface coating or surface treatment over polypropylene to improve its surface energy.
