Hello,

I'm trying to put together a dissertation in Biophysics.  I have several papers that I'd like to go into the thesis, similar to a stapled thesis, and my school does allow for this type of thesis.  The problem is, the stapled papers don't provide a great narrative, and I think the thesis will feel fragmented.  For example, my papers are mostly dealing with methods, and our new results are unpublished, but need to go in the thesis.  Therefore, I though about kind of having a hybrid thesis, where a portion of the papers are stapled, and then there's still a results section.  So maybe something like this:

Intro

Methods

  - Paper 1

  - Paper 2

   - Method discussion that's not published 1

   - Method discussion that's not published 2

Results:

    - Paper 3

    - Unpublished result1

    - Unpublished result2

Discussion/Conclusion

Appendicies

In this way, I don't have to rewrite all of my papers, but I still can put a comprehensive narrative together.  Do you think a thesis like this would be well-received?  Any advice on the matter would be greatly helpful, thanks.
