All the degrees of freedom considered should be arrested at all the edges of the plate. This boundary condition yields higher bending stiffness to the plate
According to the definition of CCCC boundary condition in the attached picture, it seems that this boundary condition has another implementation approach in Abaqus. could anyone describe what is the meaning of each term mentioned in the picture?
The CCCC refers to CLAMPED-CLAMPED-CLAMPED-CLAMPED edges. The boundary conditions for a clamped plate generally indicate that the edge deflection and edge slopes are both equal to zero.
A simply supported plate has edge deflection = 0, but the slope of the plate can vary depending on the loading.
DEAR Salloomi if we consider that U1, U2, U3, UR1, UR2, and UR3 are translation along x, y, z and rotation about x,y and
if we consider that U1, U2, U3, UR1, UR2, and UR3 are translation along x, y, z and rotation about x,y and z axis, respectively, do you mean that for the CCCC case, all of them should set zero? could you please tell which of these DOFs should fix and which one should set free in Abaqus, for two cases of CCCC and SSSS?
