We are working on isolation of oil degrading bacteria from different habitats but during preparation of growth medium when adding some concentration of oil it is not dissolved as it forms emulsion. How can we add oil in it? Any solvent can be used?

Is it ok to add oil in the growth medium before autoclaving or to add after autoclaving?

Several research papers used salad oil/olive oil/ some fatty acids but how could oil dissolved in growth medium as we all know oil is immiscible in water.

Please clear my query. Thanks.
