A way to bond tow dissimilar materials is through using a suitable coupling agent. A coupling agent has the ability to bond to surfaces of different nature. For example, silane coupling agents [RnSiX(4-n)] possess a hydrolyzable X group. The reactive silanol groups formed upon hydrolysis can condense with other silanol groups, for example, existing at the silica-type surfaces and form siloxane linkages under suitable heat treatment conditions. The R group is a nonhydrolyzable organic radical that should be adequatly selected according to its chemical compatibility with the nature of other surface you want to couple with.
