Displacement=velocity* time,

so if you want to displace over a certain distance, chose the time step accordingly. If the simulation should continue beyond that point with no further movement, remove the vlocity bc in a second step.

Alternatively, you can define the bc using an amplitude

Thanks for your advice. I have given step time according to formula you suggested. I want to have 15 mm displacement with velocity of 0.015 mm/s. For this time step should be 1000 s. Step with this time period requires too much computational time. I have to run a number of simulations like this and therefore i can't afford this.

I would appreciate you if you let me know the way i can solve my problem in a reasonable time span.

Velocity=0.015 mm/s

Displacement= 15 mm 

If you really need such a low rate, dynamic effects will be minor. Switch to implicit simulation, if possible, where there is no time increment constraint.

If you have to use explicit, try if mass scaling can help, but be aware that this possibly adds elastic waves.

I have a similar problem, please help me out. Displacement - 20 mm and Velocity - 5mm/min. What would be my Time period, Initial, minimum and maximum increments values
