I have developed a questionnaire for my study covering 5 different broad dimensions (constructs). One construct is formative and rest are all reflective constructs. Now during initial stage of Questionnaire development, I have collected (Pooled in) the items from multiple references and then based on the context of my study I have selected relevant items based on self observation and customized the items for adoption in my study.
It is mainly a customized questionnaire for all sub constructs, hence I have gone for an extensive face validity of the complete instruments from the researcher and Industry experts.
Now let say I have referred 25 plus experts and all of them have shared their view points for modification some contrary to each other.
How to report the Questionnaire development process in the thesis. Is there any way to formalize the same.

Anoop Mohanty - Thank you for your question. Face validity is about how participants see a tool. For example, the face validity of an examination measures how the students see the examination. Are the majority of the examination questions difficult? Addressing peripheral issues in the curriculum, not expected? If yes, and the majority of students think so, this means the face validity of the examination is low.
For questionnaires, face validity is the same. It is about how participants see a survey. Were the questions difficult to read or understand? Were the questionnaires too long, to it takes a lot of time to complete? Etc.
How do you do it? During piloting of a questionnaire, you need to ask the groups of people (10-20 individuals) questions such as how do you feel about the questionnaire? Were the questions difficult to understand? How long did it take you to complete the questionnaire? Which item was difficult to do or understand? Etc. Calculation of the outcomes can give you a percentage of face validity index.
