Hi!

We have made an experiment examining the effects of a compound on microbial growth using triplicates for each growth condition. For some of our data it's very clear that the compound had no effect, and for some it's very clear it had an inhibitory effect. But we also have graphs/growth curves where we think it might have had an effect but we can't really be sure if it's just random differences. We want to make some statistical tests to see if the two (growth without compound and growth with compound) are really different. We have learned about multiple t-test and have seen it used in articles for similar experiments, but can we use this when our data is not normally distributed, and how do we compare the triplicates?

I've attached graphs of our data

Thanks for your help :)
