I am trying to extract viral DNA from an NPV sample of occlusion bodies. I have used two different kits (Invitrogen Plasmind Mini Kit and Qiagen DNeasy Blood&Tissue Kit) and have not gotten good results (very low yields and low A260/280). I have also tried prepping the occlusion bodies with a series of buffers and incubations to try to break apart the occlusion bodies beforehand, but that hasn't seemed to help much. Any advice on how to better extract DNA from occlusion bodies?
