I am working on a FACS experiment with mouse neural tissue. I want to preserve all cell types as much as possible and the zinc fixation papers I have read use mechanical dissociation which can reduce viability of some cell types, mainly astrocytes. Is it possible to employ enzymatic dissociation such as papain or accutase then fix the cells with ZBF before FACS? I want to use ZBF due to its stability before analysis.
