I would like you know how after generating impulse response function in Eviews (or any other econometric software) to extract the actual data figures that are behind the impulse response functions into excel?
In Eviews you have the option of reporting the impulse-response function as a Chart (default) or as a table. In the "Display" window after pressing "impulse" you have the following options: Table, Multiple Graphs and Combined Graphs. Choose the option "Table". It will report several tables with the numbers of the impulse-response function and its standard deviations. You can copy and paste this info to excel.

In Oxmetrics7 same as suggested by Pablo- the default is graphic representation of the impulse response function but the underlying data can be saved as excel file. In terms of interpreting impulse response functions especially in co-integrated systems Helmut Lutkepohl second edition(pp379-382) provides very interesting analysis.
