hi every body.
I have created some cell partitions on my part in abaqus and then i export this part in .stp format and then import it to Hypermesh software, after volumetric meshing the part, for doing analysis i export it in .inp format and import it again to abaqus, but the cells are not use-able, i can't allocate material or... .
____ stp (with cell)-->hypermesh-->3dmesh-->abaqus-->""cells can't be modify so materials can't be determine for cells.
do i need to generate geometry from 3d mesh to solve this problem?

Hypermesh will give you an inp file after saveing your model.In abaqus follow this way to exprot your model:
File-> Import->Model->change File Filter from (*.cae) to (*.inp)
Then open your file location and push the bottom ok.
Once you import the mesh from hypermesh via the .inp file, it'll be an orphan mesh, so you lose the geometry definition, hence you can't apply sections to geometry anymore. You can apply sections to the mesh directly though, you might have to create different sets if hypermesh hasn't done it already for you. You could perhaps play with re-associating the mesh with the geometry, depends how big is your problem and what you want to do with it, but probably it's not worth the trouble.
