To use an inhibitor, prepared and sold in a methyl acetate solution, I need to evaporate the aforementioned solvent and exchanging to ethanol or DMSO. I will do that with a gentle nitrogen stream. When it comes to dissolving the inhibitor with the new solvent (2 ml), it is stated that I could use ethanol "purged with an inert gas". Now, the only chance I have is purging with nitrogen (no argon in our lab) but I will cause again a loss of volume. How can I avoid this? By minimizing the flow maybe?
