I have very few questions regarding Tauc plot.
1. How to draw Tauc plot for absorbance spectrum of CeO2 Nps from the equation ? I collected absorbance spectrum with a peak at 315 nm using liquid cell (path length 1 cm) for CeO2 nanoparticles. Where and how to get alpha α and A?
2. Is this valid for only thin films (thickness) or powder sample can we take to calculate band gap using Tauc plot?

Its very simple, plot a graph between (ahv)^1/2 and Energy (hv). you can use absorbance or kubelka munk function in the place of alpha, it'll not affect on your materials band gap.
Extrapolation of the linear part of this graph at (ahv)^1/2 = 0 will give you the band gap of the material.

I agree with the previous answers. However, as you don't know if the optical band gap is a direct or indirect transition maybe you have to do the Tauc's plot with (ahv)^1/2 and (ahv)^2.
