Hello everyone,
Currently I am working on writing a review of side effects of statins and will do further analysis regarding which statin type has the best side effect profile. However, I am new to the field regarding how to use PubMed efficiently to do a proper advance search. If there is anyone go is experienced regarding this matter, and can give me a hand, I would be so grateful. I literally spent hours and still couldn't manage to figure this out.

PS: This is the search term I used:
(statin[Title/Abstract]) AND (("adverse effect"[Title/Abstract]) OR ("adverse event"[Title/Abstract]) OR ("side effect"[Title/Abstract]) OR ("toxicity"[Title/Abstract])) AND (humans[MESH])
And it still looks like this search is hitting unnecessary ones and not hitting the necessary ones which I found by basic google searching. This is why I am worried not I am not on the right track. Many thanks again.
You can search in the following ways:
1. Facts snd fiction about statins.
2. Myths on statins : Paul Ridkher.
3. Dementia and statins.
4.Untold stories of statins.
5.Statins_ miracle of Paul Ridkher.?
- A comprehensive search of PubMed will include both controlled vocabulary (MeSH) and keyword terms.
- Boolean operators are used to combine search terms. In PubMed, you can use the operators AND, OR, and NOT.

This depends on the purpose of your review, but it may not be too huge to review the 10,000 abstracts for screening purposes. If you intend to publish your results as a systematic review, then you will be requested to follow the guideline

I would use simple query: Statins, Adverse effects.
Also, you could use statins drug names.
Atorvastatin (Lipitor®), adverse effects
