After successfully synthesizing selenium nanoparticles from plants using water my next objective is to assess their antioxidant activity. However, I encountered an issue during the drying process as the nanoparticles transformed into a powdered form that does not readily dissolve in water. To overcome this challenge, I am seeking guidance on how to dissolve the nanoparticles and which solvent would be most suitable for this purpose.
I guess you mean disperse, not dissolve. Anyway, you destroyed the nanoparticles after drying. Never dry nanosystems, the solvent is part of the nanosystem.
Mohini Tayade If the nanoparticles are stuck together, you won't find a solvent suitable for dissolving the selenium. Selenium will dissolve only in oxidizing agents and then its antioxidant properties will be destroyed and there will be nothing to measure. You can try mixing the particles with oil. You will get a suspension. Take a powerful mixer, oil and a powerful surfactant and you will have an interesting product.
