I beadbeat ticks in Buffer ATL+proteinase K + DX anti-foaming reagent. I still see foaming effect in all samples after beadbeating. I believe I can't get enough of the anti-foaming reagent dispensed out of the pipette tip. It clogs the tip and I can't pipette up&down to dispense all of it. What are other ways to measure & add this reagent to my solution?
You need to use a positive displacement pipette, e.g. a Gilson Microman or Rainin Pos-D. These pipettes are specifically designed for high viscosity liquids and are available in a range of volumetric sizes from 1-10ul to 100-1000ul.
Hi Sahar, you can cut off the tip of the pipette. This does not affect the volume displacement and makes it easier to work with dense solutions.
