Hiii, I am working on the determination of kinetic parameters of biomass. I want to know is there any possibility or way that i can calculate the kinetic parameters of Biomass by using Aspen plus software like other models such as KAS OFW Coats- redfern methods? Kindly give your comment and provide some links.
In aspen plus, you can't determine the kinetic parameters directly as you can't specify components. but Michaelis–Menten kinetics may help you determine the parameters.
While using Aspen Plus, directly obtaining the kinetic parameter is not possible. Incorporating the kinetic parameter is instead required to simulate an operation. You can take help from some journals having the same kinetic data for that component considering all other important parameters constant and incorporate in the Aspen Software to get you desired rate results. Aspen Plus can't not help you to determine Kinetic parameters. But if you have the kinetic parameters you can run the model easily. You can take help from literature to enter kinetic parameter in your model.
As far as I know Aspen can only simulate your results only when you give appropriate kinetic data. Else you can work on Gibbs reactor if the kinetics data are not known but again the product validation won't be very accurate as it would be if you have used the kinetic data. So kinetics needs to be worked out before simulating it in Aspen.
or you can estimate the reaction kinetic parameters through regression, if you have experimental/industrial data.
