This is a straight forward calculation. The composites functionality in the Strand7 (Google this) FEA code does this routinely for any for any form of layup.

Thank you for your response, I will look into your recommendation. However, I was looking to develop an algorithm that would iteratively determine natural frequencies based on varying trial values of mechanical properties rather than using an external software package.

I have measured the natural frequencies experimentally using a modal test (impact hammer). Now I would like to compare these with theoretic values of the natural frequencies based on the material properties so that I can create better estimated of the elastic constants of my material.

You could refer to the PhD thesis in Engineering of Construction of Eng F.Carannante "SOME NEW THERMO-ELASTIC SOLUTIONS FOR CYLINDRICAL AND SPHERICAL COMPOSITES" that I tutored in the UNIVERSITY OF NAPOLI “ FEDERICO II ” in 2013 , of which I will attach some pages on bending and shear of cylindrical composites, and homogeneization.
