I am modeling A BEAM-COLUMN connection with timber materials. I have to define plasticity (Hill's Criterion) in axial radial and tangential directions of wood parts. How I can define this plasticity to various direction of timber? can I do that directly Or I have to write a subroutine?

Hills algorithm of abaqus takes orthotropic properties of materials .
Firstly, you need to define the prefered directions of your material. Abaqus has already implemented Hill'criterion for yield function, if you use abaqus cae, you can go to Mechanical -> plasticity -> plastic -> suboptions -> potential to define the corresponding Hill parameters.
