I am trying to perform optimization studies for which I want to use RSM but my concern is to which design to use for my study like there is central composite, Box behennken, etc. Kindly help me with selection criteria.

If you optimize 3 factors which are certainly significant, i would go with BB.
If you have 2 significant factors, I would go with CCD.
If you have a few factors which are not certainly significant, I would go with 2 level factorial design, and then augment it to CCD.
If you have a lot of factors which you want to screen, I would go with fractional factorial design.
