Was any one able to convert a .cif file to .data file for importing it in to LAMMPS I though VNL would help it but I did not end up in success. So if any one can share some other software that can convert .cif file to .data file plz let me know.
You can use Avogadro or VESTA to read the cif file then export it in xyz format. After that either write your own script to write in lammps format, use microsoft excel if its a small structure or use Ovito to read the xyz file and then export as a lammps format data file. You may need to do some adjustment into the ovito exported lammps data file.
