i might design a flow through system, and need control the pH and hardness of the water? anyone has expierence on this? thinking of using buffer dosing and salt, but might need quite a lot. i will use this for fish study, so it is better to have fresh water, instead of just internal circulation.

Process depend on the pH and Hardness value. However dilution technique may be a option.

Andy one know the 'fail safe' device? how big is it? expensive?
I found some one use pumps to continuously mix water and salts to generate expected water. this fail safe device just is part of the set up?

Our experience in controlling the pH in the flow of the system is to accommodate the flow coming out (by pass) and install the pH transmitter connected to a pH controller, so that we can know every time there is a change of pH, so much simpler
